VEB and ASI Start Selecting Certified Managers in Regions

14 April 2017

Vnesheconombank and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives began accepting applications from candidates for the positions of certified regional managers of the bank, as reported by the VEB press service.

Within the framework of the new model for working with the country’s regions, representatives of VEB in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation will have to look for business projects that require financing and meet the corresponding VEB criteria, as well as to help their initiators in executing documents, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

Projects that pass the initial selection at certified manager level will be further evaluated by bank specialists at the investment platform “Development Projects Factory”, which is currently under elaboration. Transition of the processes to the online platform will make it possible to create a “broad funnel” of investment projects and reduce the time taken for their evaluation and decision-making, according to VEB.

The first project will be initially implemented in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation that provide the highest level of regional state support measures. These are the Belgorod Region, Vladimir Region, Vologda Region, Voronezh Region, Kaliningrad Region, Kaluga Region, Krasnodar Territory, Leningrad Region, Moscow, Moscow Region, Novgorod Region, Perm Region, Republic of Buryatia, Republic of Karelia, Republic of Tatarstan, Ryazan Region, Samara Region, Tula Region, Tyumen Region, Udmurt Republic, Ulyanovsk Region, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District and the Yaroslavl Region.

“We would like to create a flexible system to enable us, together with certified professionals who are well acquainted with the specifics of business in particular regions, to find high-quality projects, select them promptly, evaluate them, and make decisions regarding their financing”, comments Alexey Ivanchenko, Vnesheconombank’s Deputy Chairman, Board member, and the Bank’s supervisor of the project. “Thus, we will contribute to the economic development of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and promising business sectors, as well as to creation of new work places.”

Establishment of the institute of certified managers for selecting projects in the regions was announced by Sergey Gorkov, Vnesheconombank’s Chairman, at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi this February.
