The Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russia was founded in 2012. It is formed from more than 100 young musicians aged between 10 and 22, who hail from more than 40 Russian towns and cities.
In addition to performing in venues across Russia every year, the ensemble has also enjoyed great success in a number of legendary European concert halls, including the Wiener Musikverein (Vienna), the Auditorium Verdi (Milan), the Royal Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), and the Berliner Philharmoniker, as well as at the UN Headquarters in Geneva.
In September 2018, the orchestra embarked on its first tour of Asia, with concerts in Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing, and Seoul.
The young musicians participated in the 22nd Winter Olympic Games Closing Ceremony in Sochi in 2014, and in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony in Russia.
