Media Representative Accreditation Rules
for the Russian Investment Forum 2020


  1. General Provisions

    1. Accreditation of media representatives (hereinafter, ‘media’) at the Russian Investment Forum is conducted in order to create the necessary conditions for professional activities for preparation and dissemination of complete and authentic information about Russian Investment Forum events.
    2. The media need to be accredited to be able to work at any Russian Investment Forum events.
    3. In conducting their professional activities, the media must respect the rights and legitimate interests of Russian Investment Forum participants and staff and comply with generally accepted ethical standards
    4. The number of media representatives that may take part in Russian Investment Forum is limited because of the organizers’ desire to ensure for all media the most convenient working environment and quick access to all the requisite resources, given the substantial interest in the event on the part of the media and the limited infrastructure capacity available at the event venue.
    5. The Russian Investment Forum Organizing Committee may increase the quota based on an official request from a media organization, subject to there being a well-justified reason for such increase.

  2. Media Accreditation

    1. Accreditation procedure

      Both Russian and international media may file a Russian Investment Forum registration application, subject to the following:

      • Russian media organizations must be registered with the Federal Supervisory Service for Telecommunications, Information Technology and Communications (hereinafter, ‘Roskomnadzor’);
      • International media representatives:
        • if working permanently in the Russian Federation, must be accredited with the Russian Foreign Ministry;
        • if not accredited with the Russian Foreign Ministry, in addition to an application on the official website, it is necessary to apply to the Russian Foreign Ministry for temporary accreditation.

    2. Accreditation quotas for the media

      • For print media:
        • newspapers – 3 people (2 correspondents, 1 photographer);
        • magazines – 2 people (1 correspondent, 1 photographer).
      • Information agencies – 4 people (2 correspondents, 2 photographers).
      • Electronic media (including blogs) – 2 people (1 correspondent, 1 videographer).
      • Television companies – 7 people (2 correspondents, 1 producer, 2 operator, 2 sound operator).
      • Radio companies – 2 people (2 correspondents).

      Number of media representatives for Russian Investment Forum information partners is specified in the partnership agreements.


    3. Accreditation application filing and processing
      • Media representatives wishing to take part covering Russian Investment Forum events, as well as specialized media representatives wishing to take part in covering a trade Russian Investment Forum business event, must file an accreditation application (hereinafter, the ‘application’) via the official Russian Investment Forum website (rusinvestforum.org/en).
      • All application fields must be filled in, with special attention paid to mandatory fields marked with an asterisk.
      • Applications via the official Russian Investment Forum website may be filed from 11 November 2019 to 24 January 2020.
      • Application processing time: from ten calendar days following the deadline for accepting media registration applications.
      • Accreditation of media representatives is valid for all Russian Investment Forum days.

    4. Media accreditation badge issue
      • Media representatives will receive accreditation badges subject to approval of their registration application by the Russian Investment Forum Organizing Committee.
      • Accreditation badges will be issued at accreditation desks in Moscow and Sochi. Accreditation desk locations and opening hours will be posted on the official Russian Investment Forum website.
      • Accreditation badges will only be issued subject to the following conditions:
        • a confirmed accreditation stored in the Russian Investment Forum database;
        • upon showing the passport (the passport number must match the number listed in the registration questionnaire), as well as:
      • The following documents might be requested:
        • Russian media – an ID issued by the news organization;
        • international media – Russian Foreign Ministry accreditation card.
      • The badge is personal and non-transferable during Russian Investment Forum. Please wear your badge visibly at all times when at the Russian Investment Forum venue.
      • No other accreditation cards are valid for access to the Russian Investment Forum venue.
      • If an accreditation badge is misplaced, lost or stolen, the media representative must immediately report this to any information desk. The lost badge will be blocked. A duplicate will be issued upon a written request.

    5. Rules for accessing Russian Investment Forum events
      • Media representatives must be accredited to be able to work at any Russian Investment Forum events.
      • Media representatives will be given access to all Russian Investment Forum public events.
      • Media representatives’ technical staff may gain access in accordance with the regulations for technical staff access to the Russian Investment Forum venue.
      • Access to events attended by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation is granted according to a special procedure established by the Department of Press Service and Information of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Russian Federal Guard Service.

  3. Accreditation refusal

    The Russian Investment Forum Organizing Committee may refuse accreditation:

    • to any persons that are not media representatives or do not hold positions listed in Clause 2.2 hereof;
    • to any media representatives specializing in publications of a strictly advertising, reference of a narrowly specialized nature that is not related to the Russian Investment Forum topic, other than trade publications;
    • The Russian Investment Forum Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse accreditation without giving a reason.

  4. Rights and Obligations of Media Representatives Accredited at Russian Investment Forum

    1. Media representatives accredited at Russian Investment Forum may:
      • use any services intended for facilitating the work of journalists or press service employees;
      • receive information on official Russian Investment Forum events and exhibitions (press releases, a business programme, etc.);
      • work at the Russian Investment Forum Press Centre during official events and use the Russian Investment Forum Press Centre infrastructure;
      • attend press conferences, news briefings or any other press events.

    2. Media representatives accredited at Russian Investment Forum must:
      • fact-check any information they report;
      • meet requests from persons providing information to include a reference to the source;
      • when obtaining information from private individuals or officials, inform them about audio or video recording, filming or photo shooting;
      • in conducting their professional activities, show a badge or any other document certifying the journalist’s identity and authority;
      • not use their professional capabilities to hide information or fake socially important data, or collect information for the benefit of a third person or party that is not a media organization;
      • suspend (stop) photo/video shooting at the request of Russian Investment Forum security staff;
      • not distribute any print materials at the Russian Investment Forum venue without approval from the Russian Investment Forum Organizing Committee;
      • when using official information or quoting statements made by Russian Investment Forum participants, comply with the Russian Investment Forum Reference Policy, i.e., any finished copy must mention the Russian Investment Forum and the information source, while electronic media must include a link to the official Russian Investment Forum website (rusinvestforum.org/en); no modifications, additions or distortions may be made to any copied (quoted) information.
