Rostov Region’s foreign trade grows 20% in 2016

The Rostov Region’s foreign trade rose almost 20% year-on-year in 11M2016 to USD 6.838 billion, the regional government said.

“The Rostov Region’s foreign trade was USD 6.838 billion in 11M2016, including exports of USD 4.893 billion and imports of 1.945 billion. Foreign trade rose 19.6%, or USD 1.123 billion, year-on-year”, the statement said.

The 11M2016 trade surplus was reported at USD 2.948 billion, 36.2% more than in 11M2015. Goods exports went up by 24.2% (USD 953 m), while imports of goods grew by 9.6% or USD 170 m.

“Governor Vasily Golubev has set the task of establishing multilateral interaction with CIS and SCO member countries, development of inter-regional cooperation with partners in places like Armenia, India, Spain, Italy, China, France, the Czech Republic, Belarus, South Korea and ASEAN, and active participation in international exhibitions and fairs as priorities for development of international cooperation in 2017”, the regional government said.
