Russia and Belarus Start a New Chapter in Oil-and-Gas Relations
14 April 2017
As a result of the talks, Arkady Dvorkovich and Vladimir Semashko, Deputy Prime Ministers of the two countries, signed a set of documents resolving all the existing problems and allowing them to be avoided in the future, TASS reports.
On April 13, Belarus paid off more than USD 726 m of its debt for Russian gas, while Gazprom agreed to bind the gas price formula for Belarus to that of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District in 2018–2019.
Also, in the near future, Russia will increase the supply of duty-free oil to Belarus, which was previously reduced owing to the Belarusian debt for gas.
