Foreign direct investment in the Russian economy amounted to USD 20–25 billion in 2017, Russian Minister of Economic Development Maksim Oreshkin said.
The minister said companies that invested in the Russian economy during “the turbulent period in the geopolitical sense” are now reaping the benefits of their investment decisions. “If we look at the statistics, we will see a number of major transactions and that the investment climate is improving,” the minister said.
In October 2017, Oreshkin reported that foreign direct investment in the Russian economy amounted to USD 14 billion in the first half of 2017.
