Dmitry Medvedev made this announcement at a government meeting, TASS news agency reports.

“Our industrial production is demonstrating growth, which is important. The manufacturing industries have shown decent growth rates. More than RUB 80 billion is being allocated so that they continue to develop”, he said.

The funds will be used to support machine-building, light industry, and other manufacturing industries. In addition, the funds are intended to provide companies with affordable loans, to substitute imports, and to establish modern production facilities in Russia, he said.

“Also, RUB 2.5 billion has been earmarked for road construction and repairs in seven regions – Buryatia, Tyva and the Kaliningrad, Rostov, Kostroma, Ryazan, and Yaroslavl Regions”, Medvedev said.

Medvedev also noted that more than RUB 5 billion is being allocated to form a comfortable urban environment.

“In the coming years, we will carry out large-scale work to improve courtyards, pedestrian zones, squares, and parks. All the regions are actively involved in this process today”, he said.
