Government will work out a “dignified old age” plan

16 March 2017

The Ministry of Economic Development has submitted to the government its proposals for finalising the integrated plan to boost economic growth in 2017–2025, Izvestiya reports, referring to Deputy Minister of Economic Development Oleg Fomichev. Pursuant to instructions from Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the document was to be submitted by March 15.

Mr Fomichev said that the action plan incorporates ten priority areas and an individual working group would be established for each, including representatives of the federal executive authorities and experts.

“This week, we will be forming working groups. We sent proposals to all stakeholders yesterday. On Friday, we are having the first general meeting at the Ministry to discuss in detail how we are going to work. Starting next week, working groups will begin their work on these ten focus areas”, the Deputy Minister said.

These ten focus areas include taxes, export support, project financing, sustainable environment, digital economy, labour relations, dignified old age, healthcare, human capital and pensions.

The Deputy Minister of Economic Development also said that the interim version of the plan would be presented in public at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum on April 20–22, whereas the final version would be submitted to the President at the end of May, in accordance with the schedule approved for the Ministry.
