As a result of government support measures for the automotive industry, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is planning for 7% growth in new car production in 2017. This announcement was made at a session of the Ministry of Industry and Trade collegium, Gazeta.Ru reports.

Total government support for the automotive industry in 2017 will amount to RUB 62.3 billion, which will be spent on special programmes to stimulate demand, among other things.

These measures will result in sales of more than 750,000 cars and increase production by 7% compared with last year, which will provide additional incentive not only to car manufacturers and automotive component producers, but enterprises in other sectors as well.
