Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets has spoken in favour of reversing planned pension reforms. She added that decent pensions should be ensured by increasing the income of citizens as a whole, RBC reports.

“In my view, we need to stop the reforms to this system. Gradual, evolutionary measures to increase payments, to encourage greater responsibility among employers to pay insurance contributions – these are the gradual steps that will eventually result in us having higher pensions,” she asserted, underlining her support for an evolutionary approach to developing Russia’s pensions system.
