4 July 2019

A meeting of the Russian Investment Forum Organizing Committee chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak was held in Moscow on 3 July.

The meeting concerned the outcomes of the 2019 forum and the organization of Russian Investment Forum 2020, including preparation of the Forum venue and the infrastructure within Krasnodar Territory and the city of Sochi.

“The Russian Investment Forum Organizing Committee has determined that the event will be held on 12–14 February 2020. The Forum will be held in Sochi’s Olympic Park Main Media Centre. We have a lot of work ahead of us to ensure the preparation of the venue and the city's infrastructure, launch the invitation campaign, and create a plan for the business programme and regional exhibitions as part of the forum,” said Dmitry Kozak.

Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov noted that the Russian Investment Forum is an effective platform for attracting investment to Russian regions: “The Russian Investment Forum is a significant business event, a platform for dialogue between business representatives, regional government officials, and globally recognized experts. Last year, the forum was attended by over 8,000 delegates, including representatives from 65 foreign countries. The number of participants grew by 30% compared to 2018. The Forum gives regions an opportunity to showcase their investment appeal and find the most effective ways to cooperate with Russian and international investors.”

Fifteen expert reports on the results of key discussions held as part of the Russian Investment Forum 2019’s business programme are published on the Roscongress Foundation Information and Analytical System. Members of the expert council of Kuban State University’s North Caucasus Strategic Research Center and employees from the Institute for Regional Economic Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences and the North-West Institute of Management at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) took part in preparing the analytical materials.
