Awards ceremony for winners of the ‘Best Social Project of the Year’ competition

The results of the Russian competition among social entrepreneurship projects ‘Best Social Project of the Year’ were announced at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi on 15 February. The competition was held at the initiative of Russian State Social University with the support of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI). The partners of the competition were the ‘Our Future’ Regional Social Programmes Foundation, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, and the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.

The competition aimed to find and identify the best projects of social entrepreneurs and was held for the third time. Applications to take part in the competition were submitted by all the country’s federal entities with a total of 500 projects from 47 regions being registered. The projects were selected in two stages: at the regional level and the federal level.

The winners were presented awards by Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Oleg Fomichev, and Russian State Social University Rector Natalia Pochinok.

Sergey Akentyev from the Moscow Region won the category ‘Best Social Project of the Year in Ensuring Employment and Involvement in the Socially Active Activities of People in Need of Social Support’ (with his project ‘Ceramics Studio School of Sergey Akentyev’).
Andrey Tsarev from Pskov won the category ‘Best Social Project of the Year in Social Services for People in Need of Social Support’ (with his project ‘Centre for Curative Pedagogy and Differentiated Education’).

Andrey Davidyuk from Moscow won the category ‘Best Social Project of the Year in Public-Private Partnership for the Development and Manufacturing of Technical Equipment for the Rehabilitation of Disabled People, the Provision of Rehabilitation Services, and Recruiting and Training for the Use of Technical Rehabilitation Equipment for Disabled People’ (with his ‘Cybatletika’ project).

Tatyana Semisokha from the Kursk Region won the category ‘Best Social Project of the Year in Physical Education and Mass Sports for People in Need of Social Support’ (with her project involving the private curative and preventive medical institution ‘AKVILA Functional Rehabilitation Centre’).

Nadezhda Belova from the Nizhny Novgorod Region won in the category ‘Best Social Project of the Year in Continuing Education for Children’ (with her project ‘Overcoming’).

Sergey Tokarev from the Vologda Region won the category ‘Best Social Project of the Year in Cultural and Educational Activities’ (with his project ‘Galinskoye Sails Interactive Museum’).

Various projects in special categories were also recognized.
