15 February 2019

As part of the Russian Investment Forum, the Roscongress Foundation, the Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects (ASI) concluded a cooperation agreement to organise and support the work of the Project Office “Invest in Russia. Invest in Russian Regions”.

The document was signed by Roscongress Foundation CEO Alexander Stuglev, ASI General Director Svetlana Chupsheva and Alexander Malakh, Director for Regional Projects and Head of the Centre for Investment Promotion “Invest in Russia”.

The Project Office is primarily designed to consolidate the resources of the parties, federal and regional development institutions, and the authorities in order to improve the ability to attract investments and create an effective mechanism to support investment projects in the regions of Russia. The office will use the best Russian and international practices, including as regards lifting administrative barriers.

Under the terms of the agreement, the work of the Project Office will be covered at the key congress and exhibition events in the Russian Federation organised by the Roscongress Foundation, including the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Eastern Economic Forum, the Russian Investment Forum, the International Arctic Forum and the Russian Energy Week. Other planned activities include joint special-purpose investment events in Russia.

The parties also plan to participate in implementing the single information and marketing strategy of the Project Office “Invest in Russia. Invest in Russian regions” and expand its partnership network through cooperation with the associations of entrepreneurs and the representative offices of the Russian Federation abroad.

Special attention will be focused on consulting and analytical projects, including research into the training of regional teams and participants in the Project Office, as well as preparing recommendations for federal and regional development institutions and government agencies.

“Our organisations have long been partners. The Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives are actively involved in the events organised by the Roscongress Foundation. I am convinced that the joint efforts to promote the Project Office ‘Invest in Russia. Invest in Russian Regions’ will produce tangible results in the very near future”, Alexander Stuglev stressed.

For her part, Svetlana Chupsheva noted that “the initiative to set up the Project Office is based on the idea of a front office responsible for cooperation with investors. In this respect, the move by several leading development institutions to unify their efforts looks logical and important.”

“The Project Office will become an important tool for disseminating the best practices from the RDIF’s collaboration with the world’s leading investors among the Russian regions. This, in turn, will result in an increase in the number of well-developed, high-quality regional projects and increase the inflow of foreign investments”, Alexander Malakh said.
