Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+ will be held on 13 February 2019, the first day of the Russian Investment Forum, at the Main Media Centre in Sochi.

Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+ will be a dedicated annual platform for discussing the means to increase life expectancy to 78 years by 2024 and to 80 years by 2030. It will provide an opportunity for the expert community to develop proposals for implementing national programmes and projects in such areas as demography, healthcare, science, education and the environment.

The Forum is supported by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.

“One of the goals set in the Decree issued by the President in May 2018, ‘On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Russian Federation for the Period up to 2024’, to increase life expectancy to 78 years by 2024 and to 80 years by 2030, concerns both the federal centre and all regions of our country. And this is not just about medicine. A holistic approach is needed to achieve this important goal, including programmes not just in the areas of healthcare and demographic development but also in the spheres of science, education and the environment. Of particular importance is promotion of a healthy lifestyle and active ageing”, said Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation.

The Forum will bring together top experts, academicians from the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian officials, heads of related ministries and federal agencies, members of the State Duma Healthcare Committee and the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, heads and representatives of the constituent agencies of the Russian Federation responsible for social policy and healthcare, representatives of the administrations of large Russian cities in the area of healthcare and social policy, representatives of the Government and the Presidential Administration of Russia.

The event will also be attended by representatives of non-profit organizations in the areas of education, youth policy, social protection and support for the people, representatives of big businesses in Russia and abroad, pharmaceutical companies, leading medical centres, medical equipment manufacturers, aesthetic and preventive medicine institutions, restorative medicine and rehabilitation centres, as well as representatives of the sports industry and producers of water, biologically active food supplements and sport nutrition.

The Forum will include business events, presentations, a competition of innovative projects by technology companies, and the Healthy Society exhibition, which will allow the participants to debate key problems of demographic development, healthcare and raising living standards for Russian people, while also learning about promising medical projects.

“The Healthy Life Forum: Towards 80+ will be held for the first time and it is designed to become a vital platform for direct dialogue between government agencies and the expert community, and for a joint search for and development of practical proposals for implementing national programmes and projects for achieving a higher healthy life expectancy in Russia. We are already working on the Forum’s business programme. We hope this Forum will become an effective platform for discussing topical issues in the areas of demographic development, healthcare, projects in the field of science, education and environment”, stressed Russian Presidential Adviser Anton Kobyakov.
